What a spectacle. Our first bonfire night since we moved south. It was such a fab evening filled with smoke, fire, deafening bangers and many friendly folk. We followed the Cliffe Bonfire Society, starting with a pint at the Dorset Arms, the society's HQ. We didn't last the entire night - which goes on for about 7 hours! My ears are still ringing.

Went to a screening of Animal Kingdom with Rich this week. I have rarely felt so uncomfortable for so long in a film. Animal Kingdom is so well crafted, cast and has a solid script. David Michod is one to watch.

The film is a raw, gritty tale from the perspective of a young member of a crime family in Melbourne. He has choices to make, or perhaps no choices at all. Go see.
